Abstract

El presente escrito versa sobre patrocinio deportivo y los efectos que provoca en las empresas que lo llevan a cabo. Se ha hecho una revisión minuciosa de la literatura existente sobre patrocinio deportivo revisando las teorías más destacables sobre el mismo. El patrocinio deportivo supone una importante fuente de financiación que posibilita la celebración de muchos eventos deportivos. Los eventos deportivos generan grandes beneficios para las ciudades anfitrionas antes, durante y después de la celebración del mismo. Las empresas conociendo los riesgos que tienen que soportar al ejercer de patrocinadores son conscientes de los grandes beneficios que pueden obtener a nivel corporativo, teniendo motivaciones externas y también motivaciones internas para embarcarse en el patrocinio deportivo.Se analiza el caso concreto del patrocinador Reb Bull en el Campeonato del Mundo de Moto GP en el Circuito de Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz, quedando demostrada la eficacia de sus acciones patrocinadoras.Los resultados muestran que Red Bull no consigue transferir significativamente el valor que los individuos perciben del evento a su marca, y se identifican los motivos que justifican que la empresa no consiga los objetivos de patrocinio esperados
