Abstract

¿Cuáles son las causas por las que un movimiento de extrema derecha, creado y desarrollado en Internet, se haya convertido en los últimos años en una de los motores ideológicos más influyentes dentro de EEUU?. La Alt right (derecha alternativa) transmite a través de diversas plataformas un discurso basado en el supremacismo blanco y el odio hacia los colectivos más discriminados. Este ensayo aborda una análisis a cerca del discurso por el cual la Alt Right cuenta ahora con el apoyo de una parte importante de la sociedad y el respaldo de ciertos líderes políticos. Dicho discurso tiene como finalidad comunicar ideas tales como el machismo, el racismo y la lucha contra lo políticamente correcto; abanderando la libertad de expresión. Su herramienta más eficaz es el uso de la ironía y el humor como cortina para enmascarar su propaganda de odio. Para ello hacen uso del meme como principal canal comunicativo. El meme está considerado a día de hoy como la forma de comunicación más simple dentro de las rede sociales y las nuevas tecnologías, pero que cuenta con una función comunicativa abismal. El uso de la imagen, el gif o el vídeo convierten al meme en un mensaje muy goloso, el cuál rápidamente se viraliza.
