El sector turístico en España se ha consolidado en la última década como un sector crucial en la economía española, pues realiza grandes aportaciones en el Producto Interior Bruto y genera a las empresas turísticas unos ingresos sustanciales. Es por ello que conocer las características de este sector permite a las empresas poder implantar estrategias que se adecúen a las oscilaciones de la oferta y demanda. Por ello, este trabajo persigue analizar su característica fundamental, la estacionalidad, enfatizando en el sector hotelero debido a su gran relevancia. Para ello, se realiza un análisis de la literatura y un análisis empírico, finalizando con la redacción de posibles estrategias que reduzcan el efecto estacional en el sector.
The tourism sector in Spain has consolidated in the last decade as a crucial sector in the Spanish economy, because it makes great contributions in the Gross Domestic Product and generates to the tourist companies a substantial income. This is why knowing the characteristics of this sector allows companies to implement strategies adapted to the oscillations of offer and demand. Therefore, this work seeks to analyze its fundamental characteristic, seasonality, emphasizing in the hotel sector because of its great relevance. For this, an analysis of the literature and an empirical analysis are carried out, concluding with the writing of possible strategies that reduce the seasonal effect in this sector.
