Abstract

El trabajo que se describe a continuación se reúne en cuatro capítulos. En los dos primeros se analiza el comportamiento del agua en modelos de poros que previamente fueron sintetizados en nuestro grupo de investigación. El primero recopila resultados en la investigación de conceptos estructurales básicos, relacionados con la permanencia de moléculas de agua en entornos no polares y se evalúan los parámetros que hacen posible la existencia de estos equilibrios. En el segundo se estudia el efecto director del agua en la construcción de las estructuras que se organizan en el estado sólido. Los dos capítulos siguientes se corresponden con la puesta a punto de un modelo biológico donde se investigue, a nivel molecular, la participación del agua en la inhibición del funcionamiento de un canal iónico por la actuación de un compuesto natural. Se ha elegido, por lo que tiene de particular y selectivo, la inhibición de canales de calcio por la intervención de la crambescidina-816. El primero de estos dos últimos capítulos está dedicado al aislamiento del medio marino del compuesto natural crambescidina-816, incluyendo su identificación espectroscópica. El último capítulo reúne resultados de una posible aproximación sintética. Si bien los dos primeros capítulos son continuación de un proyecto iniciado hace más de diez años, los dos últimos son el inicio de un proyecto que trata de ser modelo de investigación en bioorgánica a nivel molecular.
