Abstract

El Polígono Sur está situado en la ciudad de Sevilla, localizado como su propio nombre indica, al sur de la ciudad. Se compone de seis barriadas: Paz y Amistad, al noreste; la Oliva, al noroeste; Antonio Machado en el suroeste; Martínez Montañés al sur, y las Letanías y Murillo en el interior. En la actualidad, el Polígono Sur tiene una población en torno a las 50000 personas, tiene una superficie de 145 Ha y unas 7000 viviendas entre públicas (viviendas de alquiler protegido pertenecientes al Parque Público de EPSA) y privadas. Uno de los problemas urbanos que más afecta al desarrollo interior del polígono es su desvinculación con el resto de la ciudad, ya que se presenta como una pieza inconexa al resto de trazado urbano, rodeado por barreras; linda al oeste con la vía ferroviaria Sevilla-Cádiz, que lo separa de la barriada de Bami. Al sur con solares degradados, el hipódromo de Pineda y a algo más de distancia con la SE-30. En el límite noreste encuentra el Polígono Industrial Navisa y finalmente al noroeste la barriada de Santa Genoveva. Esto potencia los problemas sociales y económicos del polígono, generando una sociedad marginal y alejando sus estándares de vida de una ciudad dinámica y moderna como Sevilla. En este contexto nos encontramos con un problema puntual, al que este trabajo pretende dar solución; las casitas bajas de Las Letanías, viviendas temporales de familias venidas de diferentes núcleos chabolistas de la ciudad, que llegaron aquí realojados de manera provisional, a la espera de una nueva vivienda digna. El proyecto pretende generar en esta parcela un espacio seguro, accesible y salubre, con todas las condiciones mínimas de higiene y habitabilidad que cualquier persona merece.
