Hemangiomas en la cavidad oral

Abstract

Objetivos: El objetivo de este trabajo es realizar una revisión bibliográfica sobre que son los hemangiomas y los diferentes tratamientos que podemos llevar a cabo para su eliminación, analizando los resultados obtenidos en los últimos 16 años. Metodología de búsqueda: La búsqueda se realiza en PubMed, obteniendo inicialmente 433 artículos, de los cuáles, se seleccionaron 6 artículos. Resultados: Entre los resultados encontrados ampliamos los conocimientos sobre los hemangiomas y analizamos sus diferentes tratamientos y cuales son los más usados actualmente y por qué. Discusión: Después del estudio de los artículos seleccionados, obtenemos unas ventajas e inconvenientes de cada tratamiento, lo que nos lleva a pensar que, dependiendo del tamaño de la lesión y la edad del paciente, debemos elegir un tratamiento u otro. Conclusión: Los hemangiomas orales sueles ser más comunes en niños que en adultos. Son tumores benignos, aunque pueden comprometer la salud del individuo dependiendo de su ubicación. Si el hemangioma es congénito suele desaparecer sólo conforme evolucione el paciente. Respecto a los tratamientos a los que se puede someter un hemangioma, son todos igual de efectivos, así que tenemos que tener en cuenta una serie de requisitos para aplicar uno u otro. Se necesitan más estudios, sobre todo en adultos.
