Abstract

Objetivo: Realizar un análisis bibliográfico acerca de la técnica de recubrimiento pulpar directo, comparando los distintos materiales y procedimientos clínicos utilizados en ella y su tasa de éxito. Material y método: Se realizó una búsqueda de la literatura en PubMed. Los términos de búsqueda que usamos fue “Direct pulp capping AND Caries AND Permanent” y “Direct pulp capping AND Laser”. Posteriormente hicimos una selección de artículos según los criterios de inclusión y exclusión establecidos, como resultado seleccionamos 8 artículos para la realización de la revisión sistemática. Resultados: Estudiamos los distintos materiales y técnicas para el recubrimiento pulpar directo descritos en la literatura, observando un incremento en la tendencia del uso del MTA como material de recubrimiento y un creciente interés por la utilización del láser como nueva aportación. Además de las tasas de éxito a corto y largo plazo del tratamiento. Conclusiones: El MTA como material de recubrimiento y posterior colocación de una restauración definitiva ofrece una mayor tasa de éxito a largo plazo. El láser nos ofrece una alternativa de futuro pero aún son necesarios más estudios para su confirmación.

Objetives: To carry out a bibliographic analysis on the technique of direct pulp capping, comparing the different materials and clinical procedures used in its and its success rate. Material and method: We searched the literature in PubMed. The search terms we used were "Direct pulp capping AND Caries AND Permanent" and "Direct pulp capping AND Laser". Subsequently we made a selection of articles according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria established, as a result we selected 8 articles to carry out the systematic review. Results: We studied the different materials and techniques for the direct pulp capping described in the literature, observing an increase in the tendency of the use of MTA as a capping material and a growing interest in the use of the laser as a new contribution. In addition to the short and long-term success rates of treatment. Conclusions: The MTA as coating material and subsequent placement of a final restoration offers a higher rate of long-term success. The laser offers us an alternative of future but still more studies are necessary for its confirmation.
