Tratamiento de la estomatitis aftosa recidivante

Abstract

Introduction: Recurrent Aphthous Stomatitis (RAS) is one of the most common oral mucosa diseases. Is characterized by recurrent outbreaks of ulcerations in different places of the oral mucosa. The etiology is unknown so there isn’t any curative treatment. Our objective is to update the knowledge about what is the best treatment for this disease. Material and methods: We do a literature search in the databases PubMed, Scopus and Cochrane, using only articles published between 2010 and 2015, in English or Spanish and conducted in humans. We obtain 20 articles among which are literature and systematic reviews and clinical trials. Conclusions: In these patients it is so important to identify predisposing factors. The best topical and systemic drugs are still corticoids. The low-level laser therapy could be a useful treatment for this disease.
