M.A.S.H. fue una de las primeras películas que abordó abiertamente la Guerra de Vietnam durante la duración del propio conflicto. En este artículo proponemos una visión del film desde el punto de vista de su contenido ideológico y antimilitarista, haciendo hincapié en su paralelismo con los movimientos pacifistas dados en Estados Unidos en el época y su relación con el movimiento cinematográfico del New Hollywood en que se encuadra a su director, Robert Altman.
