Nuevos métodos de síntesis y purificación de dianhídridos de fructosa

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se han diseñado nuevos procesos de dimerización de la D-fructosa con objeto de favorecer la formación de DAFs. En concreto, se han explotado el uso de zeolitas y resinas de intercambio iónico como catalizadores ácidos heterogéneos para llevar a cabo esta transformación. Un requisito importante para lograr este objetivo ha sido el disponer de metodologías sintéticas para la preparación de patrones de DAFs puros, así como de técnicas analíticas para su identificación y cuantificación. Para lo primero, se ha desarrollado un nuevo método basado en la activación selectiva de derivados acetonados de la D-fructosa, usando diferentes promotores capaces de provocar la rotura del grupo protecto acetal implicando el carbono anomérico y de catalizar la glicosilación y la posterior espirocetalización de una manera secuencial. Además, el uso de diferentes grupos protectores y la introducción de espaciadores rígidos nos ha permitido controlar el curso estereoquímico de la formación de DAFs. Como técnicas analíticas se han usado la resonancia magnética nuclear y la cromatografía de gases. También se ha explorado la posibilidad de utilizar zeolitas como soporte para la purificación de DAFs a partir de mezclas que los contienen, aprovechando las propiedades de adsorción selectivas de estos materiales.
