El cuidar ha sido una actividad ligada a la historia de las mujeres. En la actualidad debido a los cambios sociales y a la menor disponibilidad de las mujeres se están desarrollando nuevas estrategias entre las que se encuentra la incorporación de los hombres a esta tarea. Nuestro objetivo es describir la situación de cuidados que tiene al hombre como figura proveedora de los cuidados a nivel principal. Empleamos una metodología cualitativa recogiendo información a través de entrevistas en profundidad. Los motivos de dedicarse a los cuidados están relacionados con la inexistencia de mujeres y se encargan mayoritariamente de las actividades instrumentales para la vida diaria. Emplean estrategias para conservar su tiempo y ocio y suelen delegar las actividades relacionadas con la comida, la higiene personal de la persona cuidada y la limpieza del hogar.
Caring has been an activity linked to the history of women. At present due to social changes and the reduced availability of women are developing new strategies including the incorporation of men in this task is. Our goal is to describe the situation of care that has man as provider of care to figure main level. We used a qualitative methodology gathering information through interviews.
