El trabajo se centra en las circunstancias en las que fue fundado el actual cementerio musulmán así como sus características más sobresalientes (ubicación, extensión, situación administrativa, etc...). Al mismo tiempo se alude a la primera fundación de dicho cementerio en el año 1936, durante la guerra civil española. Finalmente, se recogen algunas de las últimas iniciativas tomadas por la asociación que llevó a cabo las gestiones para la reapertura del cementerio en 1987, la Comunidad Islámica de Sevilla.

The work focuses on the circumstances in which the Islamic cemetery in Sevilla was reopened, as well as on the cementery's location, size and administration. It also deals with the original founding of the cemetery in 1936, during the Spanish Civil War. Finally, it brings to light some of the latest endeavors of the Comunidad Islámica de Sevilla (Islamic Community of Seville), the association which arranged the reopening of the cemetery in 1987.
