En el trabajo se constata que los alumnos de la especialidad de Ciencias de la E.U.F.P.E.G.B. consideran la inflorescencia en capítulo como una sola flor. Se analiza la información que sobre inflorescencias presentan algunos libros de texto de diferentes niveles de EGB, y se concluye que la misma, además de insuficiente, es presentada de forma abstracta, en contradicción con la reducida capacidad de abstracción que poseen los estudiantes en dichos niveles.
