Abstract

Digital society has brought deep changes affecting communication as a field. Thanks to social networks any person can turn into a content generator and, in this context, companies have no other choice but to participate, in one way or another, selecting, sharing and managing information not generated by themselves. This study intends to analyze how platforms 2.0 transform into communication channels for Spanish fashion brands; in order to do so we propose the assessment of digital communication conducted by the three major Spanish corporations in the sector economically speaking. Beginning with interactions and messages´ appraisal, we offer an in-depth analysis on the use of social media in generating a positive discourse that can attract today´s active and participatory user, and on the efforts for creating communities as feedback spaces in a clear attempt to find innovative ideas and to achieve a strategic positioning within the market.
