Partiendo del presupuesto de que la obra de Vico representa un punto de referencia imprescindible no sólo en el ámbito de la historia de la cultura de todos los tiempos, sino de gran actualidad incluso hoy para cuantos consideran la cultura como objeto de estudio privilegiado, la intención de este ensayo es proyectar el pensamiento viquiano sobre el escenario contemporáneo y acercar la reflexión a la perspectiva de investigación que se resume bajo el nombre de estudios culturales. En efecto, entre los múltiples pliegues del pensamiento viquiano no es difícil aislar temas, figuras y motivos que resuenan ampliamente en el panorama de los estudios culturales y en el horizonte total de la reflexión contemporánea.

Vico’s work represents an inelludible point of reference in the field of the history of culture of all times, and it is valuable still today for those who take culture as their privileged object of study. Assuming this, the goal of this paper is to project Vichian thought over the contemporary scene, focussing in particular on the sort of investigations labelled as cultural studies. It is not hard to individuate topics, figures and motives among the many facets of Vicquian thought that still reverberate in the field of cultural studies and the horizon of contemporary reflection.
