En el presente trabajo partimos de las teorías evolutivas de Charles Darwin y A. Russel Wallace en las cuales queda de manifiesto que sólo las especies y los especímenes mejor adaptados son los que sobreviven frente a los que no se adaptan. Desde esta premisa comprobaremos los estragos y atrocidades que se han producido en la humanidad a lo largo de la historia al tratar de aplicar esas mismas teorías a la especie humana. Así mismo, constataremos las diferencias entre los seres humanos y el resto de los animales que pueblan La Tierra y cómo el componente ético y moral de la especie humana justifica que, en la actualidad, mantengamos, cuidemos y eduquemos en la medida de sus posibilidades, a los individuos de la especie con menor capacidad de adaptación y que, si en lugar de pertenecer a la especie humana, pertenecieran a cualquier otra especie animal, o hubiesen vivido en otra época, no hubiesen sobrevivido. Con el recorrido histórico que se realiza sobre las Políticas de Educación Especial y el trato dado a los seres humanos “diferentes”, comprobamos que se ha avanzado bastante en las políticas educativas, derechos y cuidados hacia las personas con discapacidad aunque. ¿Es suficiente para hablar de una verdadera inclusión de la discapacidad y los discapacitados en la sociedad actual? En las siguientes páginas se propone un diseño de Intervención Didáctica mediante el cual se pretende sensibilizar a alumnos de 6º curso de Educación Primaria sobre la importancia del respeto a la diferencia y la educación especial.

In this paper the starting point are Charles Darwin’s and A. Russel Wallace’s evolutionary theories, those who said that only the best adapted species and specimens survive, not the ones who do not adapt. From this point onwards, we will check the atrocities that have occurred in humanity throughout history in trying to apply those theories to human beings. Also, we will notice the differences between humans and other animals that inhabit the Earth and how human ethical and moral approach help us today to keep safe, take care, protect and educate individuals with less capacity for adaptation and that if they belong to any other animal species, or if they had lived in another time of History, they would not have survived. Along the several different Policies on Special Education and the questions of how we have treated "different" human beings over time, we found that we have advanced a great deal in education policies, rights and caretaking for handicapped people. Are these policies enough to speak of a true inclusion of disabled people in today's society? On following pages it is proposed an educational intervention aiming to sensitize students in 6th year of primary school about the importance of respect for differences and special education.
