Abstract

This paper presents the design and application of a collaborative learning methodology in Higher Education. Contributions about learning virtual communities and reciprocal teaching have been used for designing this educational proposal based in collaborative learning principles. 113 students in a graduate course participate in this study. A Likert scale, Osgood semantic differential and a group interview are used. The results show that students assess in a positive way this methodology and specially the discussion forum as a setting for meeting and learning. Students assess their achievements in instrumental, communicative and affective competences positively as well.
