Auge y crisis de la prensa satírica española en el Sexenio Revolucionario (1868-1874)

Abstract

La période du Sexenio Revolucionario (1868-1874) représente une étape dorée pour le journalisme satirique en Espagne. De nombreux titres nouveaux sont publiés à la faveur d'une liberté retrouvée et des changements politiques qui s'opèrent. Il s'agit toutefois de périodiques aux ressources limitées et très fugaces. Les contenus, en particulier graphiques, sont renouvelés. Toutes les tendances politiques, surtout celles d'opposition, connaissent un remarquable essor. Madrid conserve une très nette hégémonie, en nombre de titres et en matière de diffusion, mais le processus s'étend sur toute l'Espagne. On trouvera en appendice la liste des périodiques satiriques édités en Espagne pendant la période étudiée.

El Sexenio Revolucionario (1868-1874) representa una etapa dorada para el periodismo satírico en España. Surgen un gran número de nuevos títulos, favorecidos por la recuperada libertad y el cambiante proceso político. Son, sin embargo, periódicos limitados en recursos y muy fugaces. Se renuevan contenidos, especialmente los gráficos, y todas las tendencias, sobre todo las de oposición, conocen notable auge. Madrid mantiene una clara hegemonía en número de títulos y difusión, pero el proceso se extiende por toda España. Se hallará en apéndice la relación de periódicos satíricos editados en España durante el periodo estudiado.

The Revolutionary Six-Year (1868-1874) represents a golden era for the satirical journalism in Spain. A large number of new titles, favored by the regained freedom and the changing political process, arises. They are, however, limited resources and very fleeting newspapers. Content, especially graphics, are renewed and all the trends, overcoat the opposition, known remarkable boom. Madrid maintains a clear hegemony in number of titles and audience, but the process extends throughout Spain. The list of satirical periodicals published in Spain during the period studied can found in the appendix to this study.
