Abstract

Las relaciones públicas han revolucionado el mundo empresarial con la aparición de la tecnología 2.0. y con fenómenos como las redes sociales y los blogs. Esta investigación analiza el uso de los medios sociales que hace el sector turístico, en concreto, las cadenas hoteleras de la Costa del Sol. En cada uno de los hoteles se han analizado y seguido los perfiles en las principales redes sociales: Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Flickr y Youtube; y el uso de blog (en caso de tenerlo). Destacan los perfiles en redes sociales de importantes cadenas nacionales presentes en la capital malagueña como AC, Room Mate, NH, Vincci o Meliá, y los blogs de cadenas como NH y hoteles como Monte Málaga, entre otros. Por su parte, en la lista de los medios sociales, el blog es uno de los más interesantes a la hora de comunicar ya que su formato permite extenderse más y presentar información más completa. Sin embargo, su uso no está muy extendido en el sector hotelero malagueño. Internet y las redes sociales han revolucionado el sector turístico y ese hecho es notable también en el sector hotelero presente en la Costa del Sol. La mayoría de empresas (cadena y hoteles) tienen presencia en medios sociales y están empezando a gestionar las posibilidades comunicativas que estos les ofrecen.
