Estudio de las microalgas de la cuenca del Guadalquivir: efecto del tipo de sustrato y ecorregionalización

Abstract

La cuenca del río Guadalquivir se compone de una red muy extensa de ríos y arroyos, ocupando una superficie de 57527 km2. Dentro de la cuenca se observan diferencias espaciales muy marcadas por la geomorfología propia de cada zona además de una amplia gama de perturbaciones. Los ecosistemas acuáticos continentales albergan, una amplia riqueza en microalgas bentónicas. Hasta el momento no se tiene la información suficiente para definir la riqueza de algas de la cuenca del Guadalquivir de ahí la justificación de este trabajo. La calidad del agua, la heterogeneidad espacial, las variaciones estacionales y las características hidrodinámicas son variables que influyen en el fitobentos de los ríos, Las microalgas bentónicas son organismos que tienen un gran valor como bioindicadores, ya que responden con relativa rapidez a los cambios. Por ello están incluidos como indicadores dentro de la Directiva Marco del Agua (60/2000). A partir de indicadores físicos, la Directiva 60/2000, en su Artículo 5, llega a una clasificación de las masas de agua por tipológicas, con el fin de marcar unas condiciones de referencia en cada una de ellas. Estas condiciones de referencia ayudan a evaluar como de distanciada esta la masa del buen estado ecológico. La utilización de sustratos artificiales para la recolección de muestras cuantificación de biomasa y riqueza, es muy discutida por diferentes investigadores. En la cuenca del Guadalquivir existen numerosos tramos de los ríos donde el acceso a los sustratos es difícil, con lo cual la colocación previa de sustratos artificiales resolvería este problema.
