Abstract

En los cambios a los que hemos asistido en las últimas décadas en el conocimiento y la concepción de la violencia de género, los medios de comunicación han tenido un papel predominante. Han contribuido a su visibilidad social y a la concienciación pero, al mismo tiempo actúan como constructores del marco de representación de la misma. Significados que estarán determinados por el enfoque, los modelos de hombres y mujeres representados o la centralidad adquirida en los informativos. Dada la importancia de los medios en la elaboración de marcos interpretativos colectivos, esta investigación tiene como objetivo estudiar las representaciones alrededor del Día Internacional contra la Violencia de Género propuestas por los informativos de la noche de cuatro cadenas de televisión del Estado español —dos de ámbito estatal, TVE y Antena 3, y dos autonómicas, TV3 y Canal 9. Haciendo uso del método cualitativo de análisis sociológico de los sistemas de discursos, se estudian los marcos de interpretación de los medios en la construcción de significados que, a través de su difusión, se convierten en significados sociales.
