Beneficios educativos del Proyecto Huertos Escolares

Abstract

El presente trabajo recoge una investigación sobre los beneficios que tienen para el alumnado los huertos escolares, experiencia educativa donde los alumnos tienen contacto directo con la naturaleza y se les enseña a protegerla. Concretamente, este estudio analiza las bondades que se derivan del Proyecto Huertos Escolares que tiene lugar en el parque Miraflores del Distrito Norte de Sevilla, desarrollado por la Asociación Comité Pro Parque Educativo Miraflores, con alumnos y alumnas de 10 u 11 años de edad. Para ello, se comienza contextualizando el estudio a través de una fundamentación teórica en la que se indaga sobre la Educación Ambiental, los contextos de la misma y el contexto de la investigación, es decir, la Asociación Comité Pro Parque Educativo Miraflores, comentando los programas y proyectos que lleva a cabo y centrándonos especialmente en el proyecto de los huertos escolares. Se ha aplicado una metodología de corte experimental, basada en un diseño descriptivo tipo Survey. Esta encuesta se diseña a partir de una tabla de especificaciones que nos constata su validez de contenido. Posteriormente, confirmamos la calidad de la medida, comprobándose mediante el paquete estadístico SPSS tanto la validez de constructo como su fiabilidad. Del mismo modo, este programa estadístico nos ha permitido analizar ítem a ítem los datos obtenidos por parte del alumnado, los resultados de la evaluación de la escala y los factores que están relacionados con las puntuaciones de la escala. Los resultados indican que el programa de Huertos Escolares ha tenido un importante efecto en el alumnado, obteniéndose altas puntuaciones en la mayoría de indicadores medidos.
