Este artículo trata una temática de índole urbanística con amplias consecuencias sociales como es la proliferación de las urbanizaciones cerradas en la región argentina del Gran Buenos Aires. Estas megaconstrucciones, en franco aumento desde inicios de la década de 1990, han generado una mayor segregación social al suponer su aparición la privatización de zonas públicas, así como por su separación física de barrios marginales y de aquellos poblados por ciudadanos de condiciones económicas más desfavorables.
This article addresses a topic of urban nature with broad social consequences such as the proliferation of gated communities in the region of Greater Buenos Aires Argentina. These megaconstructions, on the rise since the early 1990's, have led to greater social segregation appeared to involve the privatization of public areas, as well as their physical separation from the slums and those inhabited by citizens of most unfavorable economic conditions.
