Abstract

El objeto de investigación de este trabajo es la banda sonora de la serie estadounidense Los Soprano. Los Soprano se caracterizan por su escasa música incidental (aquella que se limita a generar una atmósfera apropiada para la acción), lo que sugiere que la elección de cada canción lleva una intención detrás, no solo se trata de ambientar la escena, la música hace aportaciones a la propia trama. Estas aportaciones cumplen diferentes funciones, de las cuales, las más interesantes son aquellas que nos facilitan información que no se manifiesta de otra manera que a través de la música. Este hecho es digno de investigación, pues, su análisis nos permite llegar a una comprensión más profunda y completa de la obra audiovisual. A lo largo del escrito se presentan las distintas funciones que la banda sonora cumple, así como las conexiones establecidas entre la música y el argumento. El trabajo consta de dos Partes: ● Una introducción a la banda sonora, donde se habla sobre su composición y características generales como géneros presentes y connotaciones de los mismos y figuras relevantes de la música en la banda sonora. Una primera toma de contacto que facilita la comprensión del resto del escrito. ● La narración de las seis temporadas que abarca la serie tomando como base aquellas canciones con peso narrativo e informativo.
