Abstract

This article presents a school-based program to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The intervention plan is based on the behavior-congnitive model. A multimodal approach guides the therapeutic activity. The therapy plan is structured over six consecutives steps, each one with specific goals and interventions. ADHD children, their parents, and teachers are all focus of treatment. The proposed integrated treatment plan involves behavior-cognitive interventions directed toward children, adult training on child management, and teacher’s training on academic instruction strategies. Plans are designed to promote the generalization and maintenance of behavioral and academic gains. Finally, future perspectives on multimodal intervention plans are analyzed.
