Abstract

Se describen tres factores que determinan la laminación tectal (densidad mieliníca y neuronal y trayectoria de las prolongaciones). Observamos siete estratos y describimos la estructura general de cada uno de ellos así como los tipos ne ... uronales y componentes smápticos tanto a nivel óptico como ultraestructural. Así mismo describimos las componentes no neuronales de la estructura tectal tanto gliales como no gliales.Un ligero repaso de la anatomía comparada del sistema nervioso central en relación a la filogenia de los vertebrados muestra una clara tendencia al desarrollo morfológico y funcional de las zonas rostrales del encéfalo (Delmas, 1976), alcanzando su punto culminante en mamíferos.La importancia que van ganando las zonas rostrales la pierden en ciertos aspectos las zonas caudales: progresivamente dejan de ser zonas de control general para pasar a zonas especializadas en una función o conjunto de funciones muy definidas, y en consecuencia dejan de ser centro regulador pasando a centro regulado. En peces, médula y cordencéfalo son las estructuras predominantes, asumiendo el techo mesencefálico las funciones de un verdadero cerebro; las vesículas diencefálicas son ante todo centros vegetativos, y el telencéfalo únicamente tiene función olfativa.En reptiles las vías sensitivas de la médula y cordencéfalo sobrepasan el mesencéfalo, organizando en el diencéfalo un centro sensitivo, el tálamo, que junto al hipotálamo cono centro vegetativo, y los núcleos estriados como centros motores, forman un paleoncéfalo, más elevado que el cerebro mesencefálico de los peces. En mamíferos es una estructura más rostral, el neoncéfalo, la que tomará el papel de máximo centro de integración.A medida que la cerebralización avanza, los divers|
