Abstract

The aim of this article is to present a contrastive analysis between different forms of reproduced discourses which can be found in teletypes of news agencies, and those more frequent in news written by the editors of Spanish newspapers. The use of verba dicendi in the introduction of reproduced discourses as well as several forms of citation will be mainly compared. The existence of different voices brings these informative discourses appearance of objectivity. However, as we will try to probe, the authors of these types of texts have freedom, for example, to interpret the illocutionary force of speech acts or even to manipulate the reproduced discourses.
