Abstract

This research work studies the possible manifestations of what is known as trumpism in Spanish political communication, i.e., whether trumpism has arrived in Spain and how much. The general objective is to analyze the strategies and techniques of this populist phenomenon in Spanish political communication, identifying which strategies are reproduced, who reproduces them and what their effects are. For this purpose, a qualitative selection has been made of publications in the social network "X" of the leaders of the main political parties in search of signs of this rhetoric. The results obtained are that trumpism has indeed arrived in Spain, all of them reproduce some of its strategies, the most similar discourse to trumpism is that of Santiago Abascal. And finally, we conclude that the consequences of this rhetoric taken to the Spanish level result in a highly polarized society, which increasingly distrusts its institutions and with a generalized political apathy.
