Abstract

The current traditional teaching model has affected students' motivation and academic efficiency, as reflected in the 2022 PISA report, which concerns the education sector and students' family environment. The support of this study will be student motivation through Game-Based Learning in the Natural Sciences field, with the aim to improve results, motivation, and classroom performance. We put faith in a learning model based on play, specifically in the sciences, where students develop critical thinking skills, improve individual and group work, without forget about those with educational needs who require adaptations to achieve the same objectives. In an effort to observe the effectiveness of this learning methodology, and based on current education regulations, a board game has been developed as an intervention and improvement method. Its purpose is to improve these results and demonstrate that there are more effective alternatives available.
