Abstract

Introducción: El Liquen Plano Oral es una enfermedad dermatológica inflamatoria de evolución crónica con base autoinmune y de etiología desconocida. El tratamiento está enfocado a paliar o eliminar la sintomatología de las lesiones liquenoides y es de vital importancia realizar exhaustivos seguimientos debido al potencial de malignización que puede tener. Objetivo: Los objetivos de esta revisión bibliográfica, se basan en describir el tratamiento y el abordaje de las lesiones liquenoides en dichos pacientes y en explicar el potencial de malignización del LPO. Material y métodos: Se han realizado búsquedas con una serie de palabras clave y criterios de inclusión en las bases de datos Scopus y Pubmed. Escogiendo solo artículos publicados en castellano e ingles, posteriores al año 2014, revisiones sistemáticas y metaanálisis. Conclusiones: Es de vital importancia realizar un seguimiento a las lesiones de LPO para controlar su posible malignización y establecer una buena terapia para paliar la sintomatología de algunas formas clínicas.

Introduction: Oral Lichen Planus is an inflammatory dematological disease of chronic evolution with autoimmune base and unknown etiology. Treatment is focused on alleviating or eliminating the symptoms of lichenoid lesions and it is vitally important to carry out exhaustive follow-ups due to the potentital for malignancy that it may have. Objetive: The objectives of this bibliographical review are based on describing the treatment and approach to lichenoid lesions in these patients and on explaining the potential for malignancy of OLP. Equipment and methods: Searches have been carried out with a series of keywords and inclusion criteria in the Scopus and Pubmed databases. Choosing only articles published in Spanish and English, after the year 2014, systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Conclusion: It is vitally important to monitor OLP lesions to control their possible malignancy and establish good therapy to alleviate the symptoms of some clinical forms.
