Abstract

El siguiente artículo expone de forma detallada diversas patologías en fábricas de ladrillo, la aparición de anomalías y alteraciones originan una amplia afección en las mismas, que, por otro lado, conllevan profundas y costosas intervenciones cuando son objeto de restauración. El origen de estas patologías es amplio, diferenciándose en el artículo entre las causas debidas a los materiales constituyentes, y por otro, las causadas por agentes exteriores. A lo largo de los diferentes apartados del estudio se analizan estos aspectos, proponiendo a su vez posibles soluciones tanto para la fase de construcción como para intervenciones de restauración. En particular, esta primera parte del estudio se dedica a desarrollar las anomalías de los materiales constituyentes, primero centrándose en el ladrillo, haciendo un repaso por las características dimensionales y de forma, sus defectos, la resistencia a la compresión, las eflorescencias, la heladicidad y otras características; y luego se enfoca en el otro material constituyente, el mortero, analizando las deficiencias del propio mortero y/o de sus componentes como son el cemento, arenas, agua, cales y aditivos.
