Abstract

Introduction: Pulpotomy is the amputation of the affected coronal pulp tissue, in the absence of inflammation of the radicular pulp. Objective: To compare the clinical and radiological success of two dental biomaterials (MTA and TheraCal PT) used in pulpotomy of deciduous teeth. Material and method: The sample consisted of 7 patients treated at the Faculty of Dentistry of Seville, assuming a total of 11 primary molars treated with pulpotomies, 3 upper molars and 8 lower ones. The statistical program IBM SPSS 25 was used as an analysis instrument to obtain a descriptive analysis of the data. Result: The results determined a clinical success for the treatment of primary molar pulpotomies with TheraCal PT and MTA of 87.5 % and 100 %, respectively. On the other hand, the radiological success in the treatment of pulpotomies with TheraCal PT and MTA has been 71.4 % and 100 %, respectively.
