Abstract

El planteamiento del presente trabajo se encuentra intrínsecamente relacionado con la labor científica del proyecto de investigación al que se encuentra adscrito, La formación de la Bética Romana. Procesos de transformación de las sociedades prerromanas en el Valle del Guadalquivir desde la República hasta la consolidación provincial (PB97- 0736), dentro del Grupo de Investigación De la Turdetania a la Bética . El objetivo central de este proyecto es el análisis en las transformaciones que se operan en las comunidades que habitaban la futura Bética, desde el periodo orientalizante hasta su consolidación como provincia romana, como un proceso histórico global en el que se producen cambios y adaptaciones mutuas entre las poblaciones indígenas y los diferentes elementos exógenos. Dentro de los objetivos más concretos se encuentra establecer la aportación de las estructuras políticas, sociales y administrativas locales a la formación de una provincia romana, comprobar el grado de integración entre la comunidad indígena y los grupos de inmigrantes, así como describir el proceso de forma diacrónica, siguiendo la evolución de la documentación disponible. La formación de la Bética, al ser un proceso histórico complejo que afecta a aspectos muy diversos, debe afrontarse con un planteamiento global y metodológicamente interdisciplinar, aunque partiendo del registro arqueológico como reflejo inmediato de las diversas manifestaciones del comportamiento humano.
