With objetive of observing possible differences, the index kaol/CAOD (caries index for temporary and permanent teeth) in 30 VIH(+) children are studied, and the levels of Septococcus Mutans (SM) and Lactobacillus (LB) in their saliva are analyzed. This group is compared with another formed by 30 healthy children. To quantify the levels of SM and LB , were used the salivary test Dentocult SM and Dentocult LB. After the study, we were able to prove that the caries index are highest in the children VIH(+) tan those in the group of control. The highest caries index is corresponding to the children that present greater concentration of SM and LB in saliva and they are similar in both groups.
