Efecto de la industria 4.0 en cadena de suministro Lean y el rendimiento operativo

Abstract

La globalización de los mercados y las demandas de los clientes han acelerado la inclusión de la industria 4.0 (I4.0) en la cadena de suministros (CS), siendo un factor importante para mejorar las prácticas del Lean (LSCM) y el Rendimiento operativo de manufactura (RM). El propósito del estudio es analizar de forma empírica si la implementación de la I4.0 influye en LSCM y el RM. Un total de 309 empresas de 14 países y tres sectores (Maquinaria, Electrónica y Automotriz) fueron estudiadas. Para dar respuesta a las hipótesis propuestas se empleó el método de Regresiones Jerárquicas y la mediación estadística. Las evidencias muestran una relación positiva significativa entre I4.0, LSCM y RM. También, se evidencia que existe un efecto mediador de la I4.0 en el LSCM, el efecto directo se reduce y es no significativo cuando participa I4.0 a lo largo de LSCM y RM. Esto indica que I4.0 no sustituye, sino que complementa a LSCM con un impacto significativo en la mejora del RM.

he globalization of markets and customers’ demands have accelerated the inclusion of industry 4.0 (I4.0) in the supply chain (SC), being an important factor to improve Lean practices (LSCM) and Manufacturing Performance (RM). The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze whether I4.0 implementation influences LSCM and RM. A total of 309 firms from fourteen countries and three sectors (Machinery, Electronics and Automotive) have been studied. Hierarchical regression analysis and mediation effect have been applied to test the formulated hypotheses. The evidence shows that I4.0 significantly improve LSCM and RM, exist a positive relationship between these variables. Also, there is a mediating effect of I4.0 along LSCM and RM, this indicates that I4.0 does not replace but rather complements LSCM with a significant impact on RM.
