¿Qué es la escuela de Salamanca? Nuevas perspectivas

Abstract

The current debate on the concept of the School of Salamanca is analyzed. The new pro-posals of the researchers are shown: their global character (not only Salamanca); its inter-disciplinary scope (not only theological, but also legal, economic, sociopolitical, etc.); the question of the members also has a greater extension, although a certain umbilical cord with the Salamancan masters is always indicated; all this within a time frame that extends during the 16th century and the first half of the 17th. These new perspectives do not ex-clude the traditional elements, but rather expand and develop the original concept, but with an inclusive character. Finally, the subject of the conditions of possibility of the School is addressed, which is contextualized in a historical environment that makes it possible. At the end of the study, a possible new concept of the School is offered, still in fieri.
