Instalación Fotovoltaica Sobre Balsas

Abstract

Due to the uncertainty in the Spanish energy market, the idea of consumers producing their own energy is becoming increasingly popular, allowing them to save on their final bill and sell any excess to the electric grid. While the economic investment required for the installation and maintenance of photovoltaic facilities is a disadvantage, the use of renewable energy sources has become a global priority for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating climate change. In this context, floating photovoltaic installations on irrigation rafts are an innovative alternative for efficiently and sustainably harnessing available water surfaces to generate solar energy, avoiding space limitations and land use restrictions. The technology of photovoltaic solar panels has experienced a significant decrease in costs, which has increased the competitiveness of this energy source in relation to conventional sources. Installing solar panels on a raft not only utilizes the water surface, but will also result in beneficial usage of it, contributing to the sustainability of the activity and reducing the carbon footprint. All of this promotes the diversification of the energy matrix and contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the mitigation of climate change in an economically beneficial way for farmers. The present work is divided into two well-differentiated parts. The first part will introduce and analyze photovoltaic energy production technologies, specifically floating photovoltaic installations. A brief exposition of their theoretical foundations, analysis of their characteristics, and examples of installations developed in this industry will be presented. In the second part, an engineering project will be carried out consisting of a floating photovoltaic installation for a community of irrigators to be installed in their irrigation raft in Trigueros, Huelva.
