El objetivo de este trabajo consiste en analizar las causas que pueden motivar la sustitución de una persona en la alta dirección de la empresa (presidente, consejero delegado o director general). En primer lugar, se pretende replicar un artículo anterior, analizando la relación entre rendimiento previo y rotación directiva. En segundo lugar, se incluirán otras variables -nacionalidad, adquisiciones, fusiones, cambio accionarial y alianzas- al objeto de contemplar otros factores que puedan explicar la sucesión en la alta dirección.
The objective of this research is to analyse the causes that can provoke the replacement of a person in the top management. Firstly we reply a previous work, which analyses the relationship between prior performance and top management turnover. Secundly we will inelude other variables - nationality, acquisition, fusión, change of shares and alliances- with the objective studying if factors could explain the succession in the top management.
