PDOs give protected companies a quality and safety emblem for their products, as well as requiring a group of conditions to be met in order to obtain this geographical indication. This leads to assume that all the companies belonging to the same PDO follow the same strategy, forming a strategic group. The main objective of this study is to examine whether a PDO due to its characteristics gives rise to a strategic group based on the analysis of the PDO of Estepa.
