Transición a la sostenibilidad desde la agricultura urbana en Rotterdam

Abstract

La transición a la sostenibilidad surge de la preocupación por establecer y lograr cambios que lleven a las sociedades a mantener prácticas sostenibles. El presente estudio investigará el caso de la agricultura urbana en Rotterdam y cómo estos espacios que se instalan en un horizonte de sostenibilidad brindan múltiples beneficios a la ciudad, renaturalizándola, además de propiciar el consumo responsable y los hábitos de alimentación saludable. En pocos años, la agricultura urbana en Rotterdam ha experimentado un avance exponencial. Actualmente, la ciudad cuenta con 150 iniciativas en marcha, lo que hace de este un caso digno de estudio. En atención a ello, se ha indagado acerca de los distintos espacios de agricultura urbana establecidos en Rotterdam y cómo se retroalimentan e interrelacionan en la práctica, se ha revisado la legislación sobre la materia y se han tomado en cuenta las acciones y objetivos de las organizaciones de la sociedad civil que promueven e impulsan estas iniciativas.
