Abstract

Sedentary lifestyle is increasingly common among schoolchildren, a style that causes health risks. The purpose of this research was to analyze whether the time that children in Primary Education dedicate to the use of technologies is related to the time they spend performing physical activity, as well as to analyze the relationship between different variables. This study involved 93 parents of children aged between 6 and 12 years and schooled in an educational center in Seville. To collect the information, it was used a questionnaire, adapting other already validated and published. The results showed that there was no relationship between physical activity time and screen time. However, the weekly hours of physical activity do not exceed the hours dedicated to the use of screens in any of the Primary courses. Regarding the recommendations indicated by international organizations, the results indicate that the average physical activity performed by the subjects exceeds the minimum recommended for a healthy lifestyle while the average use of screens exceeds the maximum recommended
