Social Science are fundamental to the development of the individual. Its progressive teaching produces a critical social adaptation in the person who learns it. This helps them to develop as individuals within a society marked by completely established and immovable cultural traits. The teacher is the one that is in charge of starting from the logic of the disciplines and trying to establish a relationship between the subjects in order to achieve a globalised teaching. The aim of this research was to analyse the conceptions of teachers at the primary education stage about what social sciences are and what disciplines are they made up of. Furthermore, this research attempts to find out what methodological strategies are used in class, and which are the most usedresources. Subsequently, we compare the extent to which their answers coincide with the current curricular recommendations. After analyzing the results, we can affirm that not all teachers consider social sciences to be as important as other subjects, although they do consider motivation to be fundamental and value the importance of cooperative work. They say that they are aware of different resources but that they have not yet been massively implemented in the classroom.
