Rendimiento académico y entorno familiar en educación secundaria obligatoria

Abstract

In the present Final Work of Master, an identification and conceptualization of the main factors of the family environment that are associated with the achievement or academic performance of students today was carried out. In addition, the importance of family involvement in the educational development of their children from home was nuanced. An empirical study focused on various factors associated with the academic performance of Secondary Education students, related to the participation of families in their education and the characteristics and functioning of the home, was carried out. The research problem was to answer whether the structural and dynamic variables of the family environment to be studied were significantly associated with the student's academic performance. For this research, a questionnaire was applied to 250 students to analyze their perceptions about their family and home. As results, the most significant relationships and correlations between the variables of the family environment with the academic performance of the students were verified.
