Alumnado en riesgo de abandono: Análisis de los factores contextuales

Abstract

La investigación ha sido realizada con el objetivo de describir y evaluar los factores contextuales que influyen en el abandono escolar prematuro en An­da­lucía para poder esta­blecer estrategias de mejora. Para el desarrollo del estudio, centrado en la comunidad educativa de tercero y cuarto de ESO de la comunidad autónoma andaluza, se ha utilizado una muestra compuesta por 1.426 alumnos y alumnas y 283 profesores y profesoras pertenecientes a 16 centros escolares de las ocho provincias andaluzas. El estudio financiado ha sido financiado por el Centro de Estudios Andaluces en su convocatoria de ayudas a proyectos de investigación en el que han participado investigadores de la Universidad de Huelva, Almería y Sevilla. Entre las propuestas de intervención que se incluyen en el proyecto destacan: mejorar los niveles de compromiso del alumnado con el centro, mejorar los rendimientos académicos del alumnado, reforzar las medidas de control del centro para conseguir la detección precoz y la prevención del absentismo, trabajar con las familias para coordinar la labor educativa y potenciar la autoestima del alumnado y reducir el aislamiento que provoca el absentismo, intentando mejorar la percepción de sí mismos (resumen sacado de la web del CEA).
