In Spain, Journalism is going through a series of internal problems which are materializing in the progressive loss of trust that Spaniards place in it. In this way, Generation Z, the young people, who have grown hand in hand with digitization and new technologies, find themselves facing a wounded Journalism whose contents do not seem representative or attractive to them: these needs are covered by social networks. This is how a distant youth-media relationship is configured, characterized by the inconsistency in the parameters of trust and the channels of consumption; a consumption that, in addition, is irregular and sporadic. In this context, the best asset to demand quality Journalism and promote responsible consumption by young audiences is media literacy.
