Abstract

The aim of this paper is to explain why the three Virgins and Dolorosas have been attributed to La Roldana (1652-1706) and other sculptors also giving a personal opinion about this. These three Virgins are Virgen de la Soledad of the Brotherhood of Santo Entierro of Benacazón (Seville), Our Lady of Dolores en su Soledad of the Brotherhood of la Soledad of Olivares (Seville) and Our Lady of Mayor Dolor y San Juan Evangelista tha accompanies the paso of the Brotherhood of la Veracruz of El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz).
