Clefts of the palate are the congenital malformation that appears most frequently at the craniofacial level, this cleft can affect the palate, the upper lip or both at the same time, giving rise to communication between the oral and nasal cavities and has a multifactorial etiology. the appearance of cleft palate is and influenced by various genetic and environmental factors. Cleft palate can be associated with dental problems (taurodontism, ectopic eruptions, agenesis, etc.), problems with the occlusion or the periodontium and other associated problems such as aesthetics, difficulty speaking, ear infections or difficulty eating; Therefore, a multidisciplinary treatment is necessary in which different specialists are involved to carry out the appropriate planning and treatment from the moment the patient is born until the end of growth. There are multiple treatments to treat this malformation and carrying out one or the other depends on the age of the patient, the type of fissure and the surgeon who treats it. Related to all these data, we have drawn up our objectives to establish whether there is a relationship between cleft palate and different oral pathologies, in addition to conducting a bibliographic review to establish the treatments that are carried out today in the treatment of these patients.
