Fractura implantaria

Abstract

The number of implants placed in patients in recent years is increasing and is in a constant increase. They are a great alternative for the approach to the treatment of our patients, their use allows us to give a better quality of life to patients. However, the constant increase in the placement of implants leads in turn to a greater number of complications, which can be classified into different groups. Focusing on the study of complications related to implant fracture, as well as its treatment. We should know the factors that can contribute to the occurrence of fractures such as: implant diameters less than 4mm, posterior sections, cantilevers with extension > 15mm or distal overhangs, the presence of unbalanced occlusion, parafunctional habits (specifically bruxism), the type of restoration (screw-retained or cemented) or the implant material, are highly related to implant fracture. With the aim of establishing clinical criteria for its prevention, diagnosis and management.
