Diferencias de género en afecto, desajuste emocional y recursos adaptativos en parejas infértiles: un enfoque positivo

Abstract

La presente investigación tiene como objetivo evaluar en parejas infértiles el afecto positivo y negativo, así como el desajuste emocional y los recursos adaptativos en infertilidad, determinando asimismo, las diferencias debidas al género en dichas variables. La muestra está compuesta por 101 personas con problemas de fertilidad (51 hombres y 50 mujeres). Los instrumentos de evaluación utilizados son Escala de Afecto Positivo y Negativo (PANAS; Watson, Clark & Tellegen, 1988) y el Cuestionario de Desajuste Emocional y Recursos Adaptativos en infertilidad (DERA; Moreno-Rosset, Antequera & Jenaro, 2008). Los resultados ponen de manifiesto la existencia de diferencias debidas al género, mostrando las mujeres niveles más altos de afecto negativo y desajuste emocional, y los hombres un mayor nivel de afecto positivo. Asimismo se ha encontrado que en las mujeres infértiles el afecto positivo correlaciona de forma negativa tanto con el afecto negativo como con el desajuste emocional y de manera positiva con los recursos interpersonales y los recursos adaptativos. No encontrándose dichas correlaciones en el caso de los hombres. El análisis de regresión indica que es posible predecir el afecto positivo en las mujeres mediante dichas variables, explicando un 42.2% de la varianza. En este estudio hemos querido ampliar el abordaje de la evaluación en infertilidad introduciendo en el análisis, variables positivas como los recursos adaptativos y el afecto positivo, que pueden ofrecer una mejor orientación en el tratamiento psicológico de estas parejas
