Rasgos de la Cultura Empresarial Japonesa

Abstract

Nowadays Japan is one of the main economic power and one of the reasons of its great productivity is its corporate culture. For that reason, this piece of research has the aim of showing the Japanese business culture. In that way, we present a general vision establishing the basis of the business culture and a variety of factors which modify it. Then, we are going to carry out a comparison among the Japanese corporate culture, occidental business characteristics and Indian corporate culture, as well as their negotiation methods. To continue, we will add the gender perspective talking about the women’s situation within the Japanese business culture, due to the issue that this topic has had until now. The results show that the basic elements which characterize the Japanese business culture are: the decision- making by consensus, the searching of benefits in long term, the constant pursuit of innovation and fluid communication among different hierarchical levels. On the other hand, the lack of confidence of negotiating with people outside from their circle of trust and how the culture has affected to the role of women in the Japanese enterprises. All of this with the aim of expressing the importance of knowing this topic in the few of negotiation, the study of market or since an anthropologic view.
